Camping

After my exciting day getting Scott's birthday present taken care of, I had to hurry and get home to pack for camping. I was really excited to go, because this was going to be the only time we could go this year, and it was McKenzie's first time. I've had a lot of friends tell me how good their babies slept camping, and I was really looking forward to doing this. Well, we got up there late Friday night, and McKenzie was not liking the whole camping experience. I am guessing that it got in the 30's at night and so it was FREEZING. Poor McKenzie would start freaking out every time I tried to lay her down for bed. Finally, at 2:00 in the morning I got McKenzie to stay asleep with me inside my sleeping bag. Well, this lasted an hour and a half. So now it's 3:30 we are jam packed in this campsite and yes, I am the annoying couple with the screaming baby waking everybody up. Well, Scott's new DVD player in his truck came in handy as I sat inside watching Transformers until poor McKenzie cried herself to sleep again. This time she actually did sleep through the night, but I didn't since I had to hold her all night. So, I told Scott that we could stay there as late as he wanted Saturday night, but I was not staying overnight again. We had a really fun time that day being on the lake all day, hiking, 4-wheeling, and eating good food. And best of all, sleeping in our own beds that night!

What a life. Chillin' on the dock eating licorice.

McKenzie hanging out, looking cute inside the tent.

This was our little nature hike. It was fun enjoying the view, and being with these fun friends and cute kids!
